What is NLP?
I understand that many people may not have heard of NLP and not sure what it is. I wanted to take this page to give you more information about this powerful practice.
According to The Co-Founder of NLP, Richard Bandler’s website:
Neuro-Linguistic Programmingâ„¢ was specifically created in order to allow us to do magic by creating new ways of understanding how verbal and non-verbal communication affect the human brain. As such it presents us all with the opportunity to not only communicate better with others but also learn how to gain more control over what we considered to be automatic functions of our own neurology.
Â
Neuro-Linguistic Programmingâ„¢ (NLPâ„¢) is defined as the study of the structure of subjective experience and what can be calculated from that and is predicated upon the belief that all behaviour has structure. People such as Virginia Satir, Milton Erickson and Fritz Perls had amazing results with their clients. They were some of the people who’s linguistic and behavioral patterns Richard Bandler built formal models of. He then applied these models to his work.
So what does this mean to you and how do I use it in my practice?
We will look at your behaviors and memories, notice what submodalities you are experiencing with the memory and begin to “play” with the memories using different visuals and games. It is a highly effective way to deal with past memories (removing the charge from the memory, not removing the memory) and also in overcoming phobias. At all times during my practice, I explain what I am doing with my client and check-in to make sure they are feeling comfortable. My goal is always to help you, and to have you feel ok with the process. I encourage questions during my sessions.
